Build a scarecrow from scratch using our provided materials or bring your homemade scarecrow to Carter Historic Farm to create a festive display for all to enjoy. Join instructor Glory Meyer for an all-levels yoga practice in a peaceful and serene setting! This practice will be a combination of standing poses and poses on the mat. Modification for leveling the practice up or down will be provided so that everyone experiences the unique level of practice needed for their body. No yoga experience is necessary; both beginners and experienced yogis are welcome! Please bring your own mat and water bottle. Registration will close before the beginning of the first class. After registering for the program, you will be welcome to attend the weekly sessions each month.
Named after the “Draco the dragon” constellation, the best viewing for this meteor shower is right after sunset. Bring a thick blanket or reclining folding chair and appropriate clothing for an evening under the stars. This shower is usually a calm show of about five meteors/hour, but has been known to have bursts of higher numbers. Cancelled if skies are cloudy.No dogs permitted.
Climb our 25-foot limestone rock face in this challenge-by-choice beginner-friendly experience. All harnesses, helmets and climbing equipment provided, as well as introductory climbing guidance. Each participant must be able to manage personal mobility independently or with a reasonable amount of assistance. Participants must be able to follow instructions and effectively communicate independently or with the assistance of a companion. Must be 8 years of age and at least 80 lbs. Help us find the little creatures that live in the pond! We will look at what we find and learn about the pond ecosystem together. This experience is ideal for ages 3 and up. Getting dirty is a frequent occurrence at nature play, so wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Registration required; please register the participating child only. Adults are required to stay with the participating child.
