Build and test your own primitive bow-drill fire-starting kit. We’ll focus on the construction of your kit, with the opportunity to test its fire-starting capabilities! Prepare for a substantial amount of wood whittling. Bring your best wood-working knife or call ahead to reserve one of ours. Wood provided. Must be 13 years of age or older (minors must have release of liability sign by adult before attending). Carving and knife skills will not be covered in depth – please become familiar and practice before attending. Limited carving knives available. Personal knives must have a blade less than 5” long. Full-tang knives preferred. Contact Craig Spicer with any questions – 419-661-1697x3 / cspicer@wcparks.org
